Cariloop, provider of comprehensive services and tools that help families plan for and manage the care of aging loved ones, recently announced former Teladoc CEO Michael Gorton as the newest addition to the company’s Advisory Board. A proven entrepreneur and mentor, Gorton brings extensive background in healthcare and telecommunications to Cariloop and will primarily assist in business development strategy, fundraising and garnering strategic partnerships.
“We are honored to have Gorton join our team and are excited to learn from his entrepreneurial knowledge acquired over the years,” said Michael Walsh, CEO of Cariloop. “He will be a valuable asset and team member as we continue to expand our presence across the country.”
Most recently, Gorton founded Principal Solar, a solar power company that is building and operating utility-scale projects. Prior to that, he was the founding CEO of Teladoc, the nation’s leading telehealth provider, and helped establish Internet Global, a company that delivered the first DSL network.

Gorton received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, a master’s from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a juris degree from Texas Wesleyan University.
Gorton joins fellow advisors Dr. Anne Lipton, M.D., Ph.D., as well as Cariloop investor and Silverado Interests Managing Partner Dan Slaven.
