As part of a national Angel Investor Summit that took place in Dallas this week, DC-based Startup Jackpot held a pitch competition that allowed for local entrepreneurs to deliver two separate 2-minute pitches to the audiences and compete for over $50,000 in cash and prizes. The top prize included $15,000 cash provided by Trailblazer Capital and several other organizations that support startups around the country.
After receiving nearly 100 applications from startups to participate, 10 startups from all industries were invited to the Dallas Entrepreneur Center (DEC) to pitch to a judging panel. The panel then selected the top 5 presentations to come back on Thursday and pitch to nearly 200 Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, and fellow Entrepreneurs from all over the country.
Cariloop CEO Michael Walsh brought home the top prize from the event, citing that the Company will use the money for increasing communication and automation for families accessing the product and service offerings.
