Wendy Whittington, a pediatrician, healthcare information technology and policy expert with more than 30 years in healthcare, joins Cariloop’s team as Chief Care Officer.
During Dr. Whittington’s time in clinical practice, she saw major cracks in the United States healthcare system that prevented her from being able to advocate for families on the scale that she wanted. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Medical Management and went on to work in healthcare administration, health information technology and consulting in order to help create meaningful change.
In her role as Chief Care Officer, Wendy plans to work alongside the entire team to help articulate how Cariloop can best support caregivers and create the global standard for how we take care of one another across different sectors.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr. Whittington to the team,” said Michael Walsh, Cariloop’s co-founder and CEO. “She’s seen Cariloop grow over the last three and a half years as a fierce supporter and very active member of our board. The expertise she’s gained from her years of experience as a pediatrician and working in the business side of healthcare will help elevate Cariloop to the next level as we continue working towards our vision.”
Wendy also brings vast experience in health data analytics which she will utilize to help better understand how Cariloop is positively impacting the well-being of caregivers, parents, families, and communities.
“In this role I hope to further help Cariloop understand how we can reach more caregivers and give them the support they need,” Wendy says. “As a mom, daughter and physician, I’ve seen firsthand that caregiving is no easy task. I’m so glad to be at Cariloop where the dedication of our Care Coaches adds an element of care to an often difficult journey for caregivers through a complex healthcare landscape.”
